Haowen's work was accepted to Biochemistry! He showed how the
biliverdin-binding near-infrared fluorescent proteins miRFP670 and
miRFP709 are quenched by transition metals, especially copper, and
serve as platforms for new long-wavelength metal ion sensors.

Uyen, Muxin, John, Brittany, Juventino, and Marium's work was
accepted to Microbiology Spectrum! They quantified cellular metal
contents and showed how zinc, manganese, and iron differentially
affect growth kinetics of two distinct Lactobacillus species in
complex and minimal media. Congratulations!
